Laser Piles Treatment Professor Elijah Nanpak Selcan Miner (MBBS, FRCS(Ed), FWACS, FICS, FACS) is a General Surgeon at Laser Piles Treatment, bringing over 35 years of surgical practice across Nigeria and the United Kingdom. Prof. Miner obtained his primary medical degree (MBBS) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. He went on to complete several postgraduate surgical fellowships:

- Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS)
- Fellow of the International College of Surgeons, USA (FICS)

Over more than three decades, Prof. Miner has held senior surgical and leadership positions across some of Nigeria’s leading hospitals, including:
- Medical Director roles at hospitals in Abuja, including a current directorship
- Group Chief Medical Director for a multi-hospital group in Abuja (2013–2018)
- Consultant Surgeon at State House Clinic and National Hospital, Abuja (1995–2008)
- Visiting Consultant Surgeon at Cedarcrest Hospital, Abuja (2010–2012)
- Advanced surgical training in General, Vascular and Urological Surgery across hospitals in Kent and London, UK (1989–1995)
Clinical Interests
- General surgery, with particular focus on complex abdominal and ano-rectal procedures
- Trauma and emergency surgery, informed by specialist international training
- Surgical protocol development, including work related to transplantation and paediatric surgery
Professional Development & Research
Prof. Miner is a certified faculty participant in the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Definitive Surgical Trauma Course (DSTC) programmes at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. He has contributed to peer-reviewed surgical research on topics including hernia repair, breast cancer diagnosis in Nigeria, and kidney transplantation, and is widely recognised for his work in surgical training and hospital administration standards.
